ANDREAS ERIKSSON - FORMER GUITARIST FOR CRAZY LIXX

A lot of people know who you are through being in Inglorious, so what was it like for you to be in a new band in a different country?

It was pretty exciting for sure, especially in the beginning. It went from nothing to something very fast and the first year was for sure the best one!

Did you move to England permanently? Or was it the case of staying at a band members house or hotel?

I did not live there full-time, I never really felt quite at home in the UK to be honest but I spent so much time there that it did feel like I was living there at times. I stayed with the band and with friends mostly.

I heard in an interview you had that after Crazy Lixx you had plans to go to Nashville. Where does your country and blues background come from?

That’s true, I go there a lot and just spent a month in the states writing and I'm producing an artist over there. There's so much talent in Nashville it's crazy, last time I went I wrote with bot Jared James Nichols in LA and Tyler Bryant in Nashville, crazy great guitarists, writers and people, check them out if you haven't already! I’ve always been into Country and Blues and there is no other city like Nashville, people who’ve spent some time there would probably agree with me, even if your not in music it’s a fantastic place to be.

Do you stay in contact with any of the members of Crazy Lixx (past or present)?

Yes of course, we were all great friends. I see Vic (Zino) from Hardcore Superstar the most though :) He was in Crazy Lixx before me but I’m still great friends with the band, I talk to Danny a lot and we go way back, they are all super guys!

When you left Crazy Lixx did it end on good terms?

Yes! It was a sad period but yes, definitely. We left on great terms.

As well as playing in bands you also teach guitar, so how long have you been teaching?

I've been teaching a lot, I was teaching in music-high schools and collages before we got heavily engaged with touring but I loved it, I still do Skype lessons.

You have been playing guitar since you were 14 right? So what or who inspired you to pick up guitar?

It was Steven Tyler haha, I tried to play guitar like he sang, I was obsessed with Aerosmith and then came the guitar heroes! Slash, Hendrix, Blackmore, Yngwie and Van Halen, they were big influencers in the beginning.

Do you play any other instruments other than guitar?

I do, I’m not that great on any other instrument but I can fake it till I make it on a few, haha

When you write songs, do you prefer to write on your own or write with a band through a jam?

Depends on the people I’m writing with. I’ve been writing a lot lately and it’s more often than not more than two people in the room, I like that but it's all about chemistry at the end of the day.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

It’s weird, it’s not a particular gig or anything. We had a lot of fun with Crazy Lixx and the first year with Inglorious was very exiting so I’d say that it is certain periods that were the highlights, playing Download twice was obviously cool, the monsters of rock cruise in the US was amazing, me and Phil had a fantastic time around that cruise being in Nashville and Florida, great times!

So what is up next for you?

I produce and write, I did that aside of being in a band before and when we left Inglorious that’s been my main thing. Right now I’m working with a lot of really cool artist and I’m having the best time producing, I also recently started a company with two other guys, so it's all very exiting!
